My primary focus in life is the exploration of the place where spirit and body converge. After many years away from running due to injury, illness and the belief that it was somehow beneath genuine spiritual living, I have come to embrace it as the center around which and through which my spiritual and bodily lives can be rediscovered, renewed and appreciated. With the help of a great mentor (Will Edwards), I have created the site, Running and Breathing dot com as the main vehicle (besides my own body, of course) through which to explore and share my discoveries.

There is lots of information for you there and definitely worth your while to take a look. You can also visit my Facebook Fanpage. Remember to like the page when you are there! Last but not least, don't forget to check out Loyaltepays while you are here. There's a great group of people here and if you like to share quality information, then this could be the right place for you.

The Effective Use of Knee Exercises
The knee is such a vital part of the human body, yet it is often one that is subject to a number of different problems that we may experience. The reason why this is true, in many cases, is because this area of the body tends to take a lot of abuse whenever we are younger and before any real problems begin to appear. Here are some effective knee exercises that can be done which can not only help you to overcome a lot of the pain that you are experiencing, it may be able to help you to stop it from happening in the first place.

One of the first things for you to understand whenever you are doing any type of knee exercises is that you must gradually build up the strength of this area of the body. This is where many people tend to have problems, simply because they can feel they are getting stronger and they think that their knee is going to be ready for the added pressure. The muscles in the human body get stronger much faster than joints and tendons. Make sure that you give your self enough time to catch up with the strength of the muscles so that you do not injure this tender area.

Stretching is also very important and it is one of the knee exercises that is often overlooked by many individuals. It is important that when you do stretch this area of the body that you don't overdo it, as you can easily cause additional problems. The unfortunate thing is, overstretching in this way rarely ever gives us any warning and we simply end up with pain as a result. Always take it easy, and work your way into the stretch until the body is properly warmed up. Do not bounce or force yourself to go any further than what you can comfortably do. This will make a big difference in how effective the stretching exercise will be.

Another important thing to consider is that you must make sure that the body is hydrated properly in order to avoid additional injury to this area. Unfortunately, this is something that you will not read in many medical textbooks but it can really make a difference in your overall health and the health of your joints. Drink half of your body weight every day in ounces of water and take a little sea salt in order to allow the water to stay in your body long enough to do its work. When you do this, you will not only notice a difference in the way that your knees feel but you will notice a difference in your overall health.

If you are having serious problems with this joint, it may be necessary for you to do your exercises in the presence of a physical therapist. This will help to make sure that your form is correct and that you're not causing any additional problems for yourself in an attempt to heal the area. Eventually, you will be able to do these exercises at home, once you understand how to do them without problems..
